Sexual Abuse & Sexual Violence Awareness Week

3rd February - 9th February 2025
Sexual Abuse & Sexual Violence Awareness Week is the UK's national week to raise awareness of sexual abuse and violence and to provide an opportunity for any organisation or individual to engage in dialogue.
Monday 3rd February marks the start of Sexual Abuse & Sexual Violence Awareness Week. Below is an information sheet for you to look through to gain a better understanding of this.
Sexual Violence is a term used to describe any sexual activity that happens without consent. However, there are lots of different types of sexual violence. Please click the link below for further information on the different types of sexual violence.

It is important to remember during Sexual Abuse & Sexual Violence Awareness Week that not only does abuse happen inside the home, it can happen outside, in the community, in organised groups we send our children to. Below you will find survivors’ stories, video clips and news articles relating to child sexual abuse and violence.

With any form of trauma, it may leave a lasting impact, and it is important to understand what that impact may look like. The Impact of Sexual Abuse and Violence bulletin below details the impact sexual abuse or violence may have on someone.
It’s important for every survivor to understand that support is available if they have suffered any form of abuse at any point of their life. Below you will find links that detail the support available and what that may look like.
