OUR DRAMA TEACHERS
Mr Montgomery - Subject Leader of Drama Mr Montgomery has over 20 years of experience teaching Drama in a variety of settings from KS2 through to KS5. He has a BA (Hons) in Drama and Theatre Studies and is an established professional theatre director who has created work that is produced both nationally and internationally. He has directed several school productions over the years including: Blood Brothers, Bugsy, Dracula Spectacular, Grease, Little Shop of Horrors, Oliver, We Will Rock You and several pantomimes and showcase events. He loves watching live theatre and providing opportunities for students to do the same. His favorite practitioners include Brecht, Stanislavski and Emma Rice. His favorite plays include: Antigone, The Crucible, and Macbeth. |

Mrs O’Brien - Teacher of Drama Mrs O’Brien has been teaching at Wath Academy for three years where she works in the Drama Department. She really started to love drama when she played Viola from Twelfth Night in Year 6, a part that earned her a place in the local newspaper. From then on, she found her passion for being involved with productions. Mrs O’Brien studied a Level 3 BTEC in musical theatre at college before completing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Drama at Lincoln, where she excelled in stage combat, Shakespeare and documentary theatre. She also took part in a production of Exit Stage Left at the Edinburgh Festival. Outside of school, Mrs O’Brien embraces her love of music through singing and playing piano. She has taken part in local music festivals such as Tramlines. |

Miss Adams - Teacher of Drama Miss Adams is in her second year of teaching, and her first year at Wath Academy. Her first acting role was at primary school when she played Juliet in the Shakespearean tragedy. She has taken part in the Sheffield People’s Theatre and had roles in A Dream and What We Wish For that were performed at the Crucible Theatre. Following this, Miss Adams enrolled at the University of Central Lancashire where she studied Acting. She studied the works of Brecht, Stanislavski, and Meyerhold during her undergraduate. During her studies, she attended the Centre Artistique International in the South of France. Her studies culminated in her playing Malvolio in the comedy Twelfth Night. |
